1958 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider 750D Normale Project
This 1958 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider Normale has resided in the San Francisco Bay Area with registration history back to 1971. Over $50,000 has been invested in a full bare metal repaint in it’s original Rosso color and a complete documented rebuild of the original 1300cc engine by local Alfa Romeo experts. All of the original parts are boxed and will be included. In it’s present condition, this Spider runs and drives with new brakes installed.
Paint and Body
A bare metal repaint expertly matched to the original paint was completed in 2018. Photos presented in the gallery below show the car in primer prior to being finished in it’s original red. The removed windshield, bumpers and grille are included, as are the convertible top, the door glass, window regulators, lights and other exterior trim.
Interior
The interior is stripped with only the steering column, the steering wheel, seats and seat rails, Veglia speedometer and the pedal set installed. The loose interior parts include the original 7k-rpm tachometer with an inset oil-pressure gauge, combination gauge for fuel level, oil temperature, and coolant temperature, door latches and panels, dash knobs and switches and more.
Wheels and Brakes
All new brakes are installed. Original suspension remains intact, and the car drives and steers on 15″ steel wheels wrapped in vintage Michelin tires.
Mechanicals
A full rebuild of the original numbers matching engine was completed in 2015 by Alfa Romeo experts in San Francisco bay area. All machine work was completed by Norm Racing Group in Berkeley, California. Engine assembly was completed by Andrew Watry in Berkeley, California.
Documentation and Parts
Documentation of engine rebuild and repaint, several CA registrations from the 1970’s and clear California title are included in the sale. Original chassis and engine number tags are present. Loose parts include the windshield, bumpers and all exterior and interior trim.
