1974 Porsche 911S Targa 5-Speed

We acquired this 1974 Porsche 911S Targa from it’s second long term owner in December 2022.  A major service, completed within the last 50 miles, included a valve adjustment, retorqued cylinder heads, new fuel hoses, a new shift bushing kit, new sound pad, new pop off valve update, oil and filter change, fuel filter change, air filter change, new spark plugs and new battery.  The car is finished in a custom burgundy metallic and burgundy upholstery and powered by it’s original 2.7-liter flat-six paired with it’s original five-speed type 915 manual transmission. Equipment includes a removable Targa roof panel which still wears it’s original vinyl, 16 x 6 and 16 x 7 Fuchs wheels, a Kenwood stereo, a heater and defroster, Porsche burgundy floor mats. This 911S Targa is offered with parts records, registration history, original spare and a clean California title.

This 911S came factory-finished in Gazelle Metallic (406) with original aluminum trim pieces, chrome headlight rings and stainless steel Targa bar.  Wider steel rear fenders have been installed with original rear bumperettes. The car rides on 16” Fuchs wheels. Noted imperfections include chip on the right fender, front bumper, and driver’s door as well as a several small dings on the rear decklid and hood.

Inside, you will find the original black dashboard interior with burgundy door and rear panels, power front seats and carpeting.  The factory three spoke leather steering wheel is installed as well as power windows.  Only one minor crack is noted on the dashboard as well as one crack in the windshield. All gauges are functional.  The five-digit mechanical odometer shows just over 90k miles.  Prior owner stated that the displayed mileage is original.

The polished 16″ Fuchs wheels are wrapped in 205/55 Pirelli P7000 tires. The brake calipers were recently rebuilt and the brake master cylinder, pads, and hoses were recently replaced.

The original air-cooled 2.7-liter flat-six engine was rated at 165 HP, driving the rear wheels through the original 5-speed manual type 915 transmission. Recent service in January 2023 included a valve adjustment, retorqued cylinder heads, new fuel hoses, a new shift bushing kit, new sound pad, new pop off valve update, oil and filter change, fuel filter change, air filter change, new spark plugs and new battery.

The clean California title documents prior ownership, since 1991.  The sale includes registration history and parts receipts for our recent major service.
