1980 Porsche 911SC Coupe Euro Spec

This 1980 Porsche 911SC Coupe factory color is the attractive Gran Prix White. Interior is original black leatherette with very rare velour Pasha inserts. Other factory options include right side electric mirror, headlight washers, 16 inch Fuchs forged alloy wheels, rear wiper, black roofliner, tinted glass, two rear speakers, rear fog light, sunroof and more. Only two owners with odometer showing approximately 138k miles.  Taken out of storage two years ago with major service completed and documented (new head studs, new engine seals, new clutch and pressure plate, fuel tank cleaned, new fuel injectors, new temp sensor, new ignition wires, new spark plugs, flushed brake system, new brake calipers and rotors and more). Excellent 16″ Fuchs alloy wheels and new tires. Owners manual and toolkit are present and included.

Paint and Body

For the 1980 model year, the 911SC featured headlamp rings and side mirrors painted in the exterior color, as well as black anodized door handles. Gran Prix White (L908) paint is in fair condition.  All body panels are straight with no dents.  All opening panel gaps are excellent. Exterior equipment includes Euro-spec rear bumperettes, H4 headlights, a freshly refinished front spoiler, a driver-side and optional passenger-side mirror and optional rear wiper.

Interior

The front black leatherette seats feature their original velour Pasha inserts and are manually adjustable.  The rear seats also retain their original Pasha inserts.  A stock 3-spoke steering wheel in newly restored condition is installed, and a Pioneer stereo is mounted in the dash.  The stock VDO gauges are functioning properly.  A 180-mph speedometer was installed following the vehicle’s importation to the US.

Wheels and Brakes

16” x 6″ and 16″ x 7″ Fuchs alloy wheels are wrapped in a new set of Michelin Z-rated 205/55 and 225/50 sized tires.  Documentation for brake service includes rebuilt brake calipers, new brake pads, new brake lines and new brake hoses.  Bilstein sport shocks are installed.

Mechanicals

The 3.0-liter flat-six is paired with a 915 5-speed manual transaxle, and factory output for 1980 Euro models was 188 horsepower when new. The original engine serial number 6302143 (type 930/09) indicates the car as a RoW example. The RoW engines for this year had the larger intake valves.  Major service recently completed and documented (new head studs, new engine seals, new clutch and pressure plate, fuel tank cleaned, new fuel injectors, new temp sensor, new ignition wires, new spark plugs, flushed brake system, new brake calipers and rotors and more).  The hydraulic chain tensioner and pop off valve updates are installed. The original type 915/62 transmission (7302377) is installed. The Euro specification transmissions had a slightly higher ratio 5th gear.

Documentation and Accessories

Included are an owner’s manual, recent service records for engine and brake service, and a clean North Carolina title.  The Porsche Productions Specifications (PPS) documents the factory colors, options (Equipment for Germany, higher amperage battery, plain electric mirror-right, forged alloy wheels, rear wiper, manual antenna w/ 4 speakers, black roofliner, 2 speakers on back shelf, tinted glass all around, rear fog light, sunroof and Pirelli tires) and shows a production date of December 1979 with German delivery. Accessories include original toolkit, jack and spare wheel.  Original fog lights are also included and are now installed.
