1983 Porsche 911SC Cabriolet
This 1983 Porsche 911SC cabriolet is powered by a 3.0-liter flat-six paired with a five-speed manual transaxle, and it is finished in Guards Red over a black leather interior. Sold to it’s first owner in July of 1983 by Reaves Import Motorcars in Tampa, Florida. Equipment includes black-finished 16″ Fuchs alloy wheels, a new black soft top, an optional leather-wrapped sport steering wheel with elevated hub, power windows, and a Kenwood CD radio. A $5k major service was recently completed including engine leakdown test. This 911SC cabriolet shows 147k miles and is now offered with a Carfax report and a clean South Carolina State title.
The car is finished in Guards Red all the paint measuring as original, except for the outer surface of trunk and decklid panels. Exterior equipment includes a new black soft top, original headlights and dual side electric mirrors. Close-up photographs of the exterior finish and trim are shown in the gallery below. Rock chips are noted up front, along with several paint touch ups in other areas. Paint meter readings are shown in the photo gallery.
The cabin features seats upholstered in black leather along with a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Some of the stitching in the driver’s seat bottom has come loose and there are a few cracks in the top of the dashboard. Rear seats have been deleted. Amenities include power windows, cruise control, and an Kenwood CD stereo. The factory A/C has been deleted as well as the heater blower.
The leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel frames a central tachometer with a 6,300-rpm redline as well as a 170-mph speedometer, a clock, and gauges for oil level, oil temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 147k miles.
Black 16″ Fuchs wheels are mounted with Dunlop Direzza DZ102 tires. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes with ventilated rotors. Rebuilt brake calipers were purchased and installed in 2023.
The 3.0-liter flat-six features Bosch fuel injection and was factory rated at 172 horsepower and 189 lb-ft of torque. A major service was completed in August 2026 and included engine leakdown test, servicing distributor, tested fuel system, replacing ground straps, servicing fuse panel, serviced brake booster, adjusted throttle system, clean and lube pedal assembly, rear axle bolts, replaced oil cooler to reservoir hose, changed transmission oil, adjusted front suspension, replaced both engine mounts. The battery was replaced in preparation for the sale.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through the original Type 915 five-speed manual transaxle. Gearbox oil was recently changed and a new reverse light switch and drain plug were installed.
