1986 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa

This 1986 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa was special ordered in attractive Iris Blue metallic over Blue leather upholstery. Sold new to it’s first owner in Canada who then sold to his brother who resided in Oregon and California.  Power comes from it’s original 3.2L flat-six mated to it’s original 915 5-speed manual transaxle.  A recent major service included engine leak down, oil and filter change, brake fluid, fuel filter, valve adjustment, oil return tubes, new fuses, and air filter.  Equipment includes front sport seats, Boge sport shock absorbers, automatic heating control, cruise control, and Blaupunkt KOLN SQR 23 stereo. Additional features include staggered-width 16” x 6″ and 7″ Fuchs wheels, and more.  This 3.2 Carrera is now being offered with it’s original manuals, service records, and a clean California title.

Paint and Body

The car is finished in the special order color of Iris Blue Metallic and features a Targa top, H4 headlights and amber rear lenses.  Paint meter readings indicate the car is wearing a majority of it’s original paint. The original stone guard texture is present at each wheel well and body gaps are excellent indicating likely no history of accidents.  Targa top headliner is new.  

Interior

The optional sport seats are trimmed in full blue leather and feature heat and power height and tilt adjustments.  There is a crack in the driver seat bottom and there is wear to the outside bolster. Additional factory options include heated seats, central locking, air conditioning and cruise control.  A vintage Blaupunkt KOLN SQR 23 stereo is installed.  Just over 74k miles are shown on the 6-digit odometer.

Wheels and Brakes

The original 16″x 6″ and 16″x 7″ Fuchs alloy wheels are wrapped in Dunlop Direzza DZ101 tires.  New tires will be installed prior to delivery to next owner. Brake fluid was recently flushed.  Factory options included sport shock absorbers.

Mechanicals

The original 3.2L flat-six sends power to the rear wheels through it’s original 915 5-speed manual transaxle. Recent major mechanical service included engine tune, valve adjustment, oil & filter, gearbox oil service, air & fuel filter, safety check, chassis lube, clutch adjust, handbrake adjust, and spark plugs.  New oil return tubes were also installed and leakdown and compression test were completed with excellent results as shown in the January 2025 service record (3%/175psi, 3%/175psi, 3%/175psi, 4%/175psi, 4%/175psi, 3%/175psi).  The engine has always passed California emissions testing.

 Documentation and Accessories

Included are the owner’s manual and service book, service records, and a clean California title.  Accessories include air compressor, jack and spare wheel. The Porsche VIN report and a decode of the under-hood option sticker provides the following information:
