1988 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe G50

This 1988 Porsche 911 Carrera coupe was ordered in Gran Prix White over rare Lipstick Red leather.  In Texas from day one, the car was with its third owner from 2003 until our purchase in 2020.  We recently reacquired it from it’s fourth Texas owner. The original 3.2-liter air-cooled flat-six is mated to a G50 5-speed manual transaxle, and the car’s features include an electric sliding sunroof, 16″ Fuchs wheels, and more. Recent work has included an oil and filter change, new battery, crankshaft seal, hood struts and M&K exhaust. This Carrera is sold with service records dating back to 1988, the original manuals and toolkit, a clean Carfax, and a clean Texas title.

Paint and Body

The car is finished in Gran Prix White and features a optional rear window wiper, headlight washers, front and rear spoilers, fog lights and a power-operated sunroof.  Paint depth meter readings indicate the car is wearing a majority of it’s original paint and there no dings or dents are found on the body.  The included Carfax report lists no history of accidents or other damage.

Interior

Seats are trimmed in rare Lipstick Red leather and both feature 8-way power height and tilt adjustments. Additional factory options included a steering wheel with elevated hub and a power sunroof. A set of Porsche logo mats protect the carpet.  A JVC head unit is installed. The A/C system blows cold with a new compressor and drier installed at 138k miles.  This Carrera was optioned with cruise control, which is controlled via a lever behind the windshield wiper stalk.  Just under 146k miles are shown on the 6-digit odometer.

Wheels and Brakes

Staggered-width 16″ Fuchs alloy wheels with optional white centers and factory anodized lips are wrapped in Continental 205/55 and 225/50 Z-rated tires.  Adjustable Bilstein dampers are installed, and a brake fluid flush was performed in July 2020.

Mechanicals

The original 3.2L flat-six (number 64J06937) sends power to the rear wheels through the original G50 5-speed manual transaxle (number 1J05237). An oil and filter change was just completed and maintenance records include the following:

Oil Changed every 3,000 mi with Valvoline 20/50 Racing Oil

Included are the original owner’s manual and service book, detailed service records from 1988 through 2020, a clean CarFax and a clean Texas title.  Accessories include original toolkit, jack, spare wheel, front bra and mirror masks and outdoor car cover.
