1988 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa G50

This 1988 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa is finished in Guards Red over black leather and is powered by it’s original and fully rebuilt 3.2-liter flat-six paired with it’s excellent shifting original G50 five-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes a removable roof panel, a black Targa bar, 16″ Fuchs wheels, power-adjustable front seats, air conditioning, cruise control, power windows, and a Pioneer stereo with bluetooth. Recent major service included valve adjustment, engine oil and filter change, gearbox oil change, motor mounts, chassis lube, fuel filter, new fuses, and air filter.  Equipment includes leather seats, Boge sport shock absorbers, automatic heating control, cruise control, and Pioneer stereo with bluetooth. Additional features include factory short shifter, 16” x 6″ and 7″ Fuchs wheels, and more.  This 3.2 Carrera is now being offered with it’s service records, original toolkit, a clean Carfax, and a clean California title.

Paint and Body

The car is finished in Guards Red and features a black removable Targa roof panel, a black Targa bar, fog lights, H4 headlights, and power-adjustable side mirrors. Recent work included paint detailing, replacing fuses, and new hood shocks.  A car cover is included in the sale.

Interior

The power-adjustable front seats and folding individual rear seats are upholstered in black leather. Appointments include air conditioning, cruise control, power windows, a factory short shifter, and a Bluetooth-capable Pioneer stereo.  The leather-wrapped original sport steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a central tachometer with a 6,300-rpm redline as well as a 170-mph speedometer, a Quarz clock, and gauges for oil level, oil pressure, oil temperature, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 206k miles, approximately 17k of which were added since a full engine rebuild was completed.

Wheels and Brakes

The 16″ Fuchs alloy wheels with black centers are mounted with Hankook Ventus V12 Evo tires with 2023 date codes. The suspension features front and rear Bilstein sport shocks. Braking is handled by four-wheel ventilated discs. Work in 2025 included adjusting front wheel bearings, brake fluid flush, adjusted hand brake lever, lubrication of pedal cluster, cleaned heat levers to ensure functionality and installed new heater fan.

Mechanicals

The 3.2-liter M930/25 flat-six was factory rated at 217 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque and features Bosch Motronic engine management and original exhaust. The engine was fully rebuilt in 2014 by Tom’s Foreign Auto House in Temecula, CA.  The mileage at that time was approximately 189k miles, so just 17k miles have been accrued since the rebuild was completed.  The machine work on cylinder heads and connecting rods was completed by Ollies in Arizona.  New pistons and cylinders and main bearings were installed during the rebuild. Work completed in 2025 included spark plugs, valve adjustment, oil and filter, fuel filter, new engine mounts, and new engine compartment sound pad.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through an excellent shifting G50 five-speed manual transaxle.  Gearbox oil was changed during major service in 2025.  Additional work in 2025 included a new clutch slave cylinder.
