1989 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa G50

This 1989 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa was special ordered in rare Stone Grey metallic over Silk Grey leather upholstery. Sold new to it’s first owner in San Rafael, California and has always resided in California.  Power comes from it’s original 3.2L flat-six mated to it’s original G50 5-speed manual transaxle.  Recent servicing includes oil and filter change, fuel injectors, CV axles, new fuel pump and fuel filter, new fuses, and air filter.  Equipment includes front sport seats, Boge sport shock absorbers, automatic heating control, cruise control, and CD-2 stereo. Additional features include staggered-width 16” x 6″ and 8″ Fuchs wheels, front and rear spoilers and more.  This 3.2 Carrera is now being offered with it’s original window sticker, service records back to 1989, original manuals, original toolkit, a clean Carfax, and a clean California title.

Paint and Body

The car is finished in the special order and one year only color of Stone Grey Metallic (693) and features a Targa top, front and rear spoiler, and fog lights.  Paint meter readings indicate the car is wearing a majority of it’s original paint and no dings or dents are found on the body.  Note that the rear spoiler was professionally installed by the first owner and could be easily deleted if desired.  The included Carfax report lists no history of accidents or other damage.   

Interior

The optional sport seats are trimmed in Silk Grey leather and feature power height and tilt adjustments. Additional factory options included shorter gear shift lever. A new set of attractive Coco mats protect the original carpet.  A fully functional Porsche CD-2 (made by Alpine) head unit is installed. The air-conditioning system was newly recharged. This Carrera was optioned with cruise control, which is controlled via a lever behind the windshield wiper stalk.  Just over 108k documented miles are shown on the 6-digit odometer.

Wheels and Brakes

The original 16″x 6″ and 16″x 8″ (8″ rear wheels were unique to the 1989 model year) Fuchs alloy wheels are wrapped in Toyo Extensa HP II  205/55 and 225/50 sized tires wearing December 2022 and April 2023 date codes. Brake fluid was recently flushed.  Factory options included sport shock absorbers.

Mechanicals

The original 3.2L flat-six sends power to the rear wheels through a great shifting G50 5-speed manual transaxle. Recent mechanical service included new fuel pump and filter and engine oil and filter change.

Documentation and Accessories

Included are the original window sticker, owner’s manual and service book, service records dating from 1989 to 2024, a clean CarFax and a clean California title.  Accessories include original toolkit, air compressor, jack and spare wheel.
