1991 Porsche 964 C4 Cabriolet

This 1991 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 cabriolet was first sold new in South Carolina, spent 20 years (2000 to 2020) in Washington and has resided in California since 2020. The car is finished in Guards Red with a custom Matte Black front hood and rear decklid and black soft top over Cashmere Beige leather, and its 3.6-liter flat-six drives all four wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle and a variable limited-slip differential. Anti-lock disc brakes, 17″ BBS Sport Classic wheels, a six-speaker sound system, air conditioning, and cruise control are additional elements. Service history is listed below.  This 964 C4 cabriolet shows just 66k original miles and is now offered with it’s original owner’s manual, service records, Carfax report, and a clean California title.

The car is finished in Guards Red (L80K) and features a speed-activated rear spoiler, an electric sunroof, integrated fog lights, and power-adjustable side mirrors. A prior owner in Washington had the headlight trim rings, front hood and rear engine lids repainted in a matte black for a mild outlaw look.  All body panels are very straight with no dings or dents.  Paint meter readings are pictured in close-up photos shown in the gallery below.

The cabin is upholstered in Cashmere Beige leather with a black dash.  The interior features a factory optioned 8-way electronically adjustable driver seat, with optional 4-way lumbar support, and a 4-way adjustable passenger seat.  The power-adjustable front bucket seats and door panels are upholstered in cashmere beige leather complemented by a black dash.  Amenities include dual front airbags, power windows, cruise control, air conditioning, and an Alpine CD stereo. The leather-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a central tachometer with a 6,800-rpm redline as well as a 180-mph speedometer, a Quarz analog clock, and gauges for oil level, oil pressure, oil temperature, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 66k original miles.  All lights, cabriolet top, power windows and power mirrors are functioning correctly.  A new battery was installed in January 2025.  A new convertible top was installed in August 2020.

Black powder coated 17″ BBS Sport Classic wheels are wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza S-04 tires measuring 225/45 up front and 255/40 out back. Braking is handled by four-wheel ventilated discs with ABS.

The 3.6-liter flat-six was factory-rated at 247 horsepower at 6,100 rpm with 228 lb-ft of torque at 4,800 rpm when new, which is delivered to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. The engine runs strong and original 5-speed transmission shifts excellent.  Service records document the following mechanical services:

January 2026 – engine oil service
August 2020 (@65,549 miles) – passed CA emissions testing
August 2020 (@65,400 miles) – transfer case oil service, spark plugs, ignition wire set, mass air flow sensor, engine air filter
June 2020 (@65,113 miles) – distributor caps and rotors, drivability check, ignition coils replaced, new spark plug wires
September 2018 (@64,113 miles) – air filter, brake service, drive belts replaced, engine and transmission oil service, spark plugs

Power is sent to all four wheels via a five-speed manual transaxle, and the Carrera 4 features a computer-controlled limited-slip differential.  A transfer case oil service was completed within the last 600 miles.

Included are a clean California title, original owner’s manual and service records.  The CarFax documents a minor accident in September 2014 resulting in paint scratches on the passenger door.  The details of the subsequent repair are documented in the service file. Ownership history in South Carolina, Washington and California is documented.
