1996 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Coupe 6-Speed

This 1996 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S is finished in black over cashmere leather and is powered by a 3.6-liter flat-six paired with a six-speed manual transaxle and all-wheel drive. Factory options include 4-way power-adjustable seats, a sunroof and Becker Porsche head unit. The car has spent the majority of time in California with one owner  relocating it briefly to Utah.  New clutch was installed at 60k miles.  All fluids, clutch slave and master cylinders and battery were recently replaced.  This 993 C4S shows 83k miles and is offered with books and manuals, service records,  a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title.

Paint and Body

The C4S featured wider rear bodywork than the standard 993 Carrera as well as a front air dam and side skirts derived from the contemporary Turbo. This example is finished in Black (L741) and equipped with an electric sunroof, headlight washers, a speed-activated rear spoiler, and dual chrome oval exhaust outlets. Paint-protection film is applied in front of the rear wheels. Paint is in excellent condition with only a few minor stone chips.

Interior

The cabin is upholstered in Cashmere (LC) leather and vinyl with a black dashboard, cashmere door panels, and tan carpets. Equipment includes 4-way power adjustable seats, air conditioning, power windows, cruise control, a Becker Porsche CDR-220 head unit.  The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a central tachometer, a 180-mph speedometer, a clock, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit odometer shows 83k miles.  Aftermarket additions consist of a Rennline aluminum shift knob, handbrake lever and pedals.

Wheels and Brakes

Turbo Twist 18″ alloy wheels wear full-color Porsche crests and are mounted with 225/40 front and 285/30 rear Continental Extreme tires. Stopping power is provided by red Porsche-branded calipers and cross-drilled rotors at all four corners.

Mechanicals

The 3.6-liter flat-six was factory rated at 282 horsepower, which is sent to all four wheels through a six-speed manual transaxle. Clutch replacement was completed at 60k miles.  Clutch slave and master cylinders were replaced and engine, transmission and brake fluid were changed at 82,612 miles.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through an excellent shifting 6-speed manual transaxle.

Documentation and Accessories

The original maintenance book documents original delivery to California along with factory colors and optional equipment. The sale includes original owner’s manual, warranty and maintenance books, two keys, a trunk-mounted air compressor, full tool kit, and service records.

This Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists ownership history in California, since sold new. A potential odometer rollback is indicated, but has been reported by prior owners to be an error.
